Charlottesville City Council candidate Wes Bellamy's troubles in court are over.
Bellamy appeared in court on Thursday morning, where a judge dismissed his charge of contempt of court for not showing up to a traffic hearing in March.
The judge also reduced his charge of driving on a suspended license to driving without a license, and Bellamy paid a $10 fine.
Bellamy says the original charges simply stemmed from a "misunderstanding," and he is glad to have worked it out.
"I'm very very happy with our justice system, I always have faith in our justice system, and I knew that these things, that things would prevail and that things would go well. And again, I'm just happy that it's all behind us."
Bellamy says he is now focusing on the City Council election on June 11.
