Charlottesville Tomorrow and the Daily Progress hosted a candidates forum for the five candidates seeking Democratic nominations for Charlottesville City Council.
Candidates answered questions about whether to repair, replace or create an underpass for the Belmont Bridge, the city's role in job creation, and their priorities in council, amongst other questions.
Charlottesville Democratic committee co-chair Jim Nix noticed candidates shared views on these topics.
"For a range of city issues they seem to be saving money and also listening to the residents especially people in the neighborhoods affected by whatever programs are underway so I think it is very interesting and I'm very pleased to see the candidates growing into this." says Nix.
The Democratic Primary election is June 11.
