The Charlottesville City Market Arts event is taking over the Carver Recreation Center Saturday and Sunday.
More than 40 vendors set up in the newly renovated center, selling anything from jewelry and homemade bath products to wood-carved knives and freshly baked pies.
One artist has been working on his craft since he was a child and is finally selling his art at an event in his hometown.
"So far people have been amazed by the work which I'm very appreciative of. Its an honor to be able to show off my work in my home town," said Boez Curry El, a vendor at City Market Arts.
Organizers say they're happy to do this after the holidays and right before Valentines Day. They're not sure if this will turn into an annual event, but they are happy the vendors were excited to try it out.
The event will start back up again Sunday at the Jefferson School City Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
