Summer interns with the Community Attention Youth Internship program began work on Friday.
The Charlottesville City run program allows teens to work with any of the 87 employers who have signed up for the program.
Organizers say this is a great way for young adults to get valuable work experience.
"Our program is able to kind of get their foot in the door where they can be exposed to real world experiences." says Misty Graves, the program supervisor.
"They have a great program where theres a supervisor that's willing to be a mentor to them to kind of show them what to do at a job for their first experience."
The internships last for 6 weeks.
