Drivers should expect to see more police on the roads across the Commonwealth as a new Click It or Ticket campaign starts today. Extra patrols will be out starting November 15 through November 25. Police are cracking down on seat belt use, speeding, and driving under the influence in an effort to prevent accidents and keep the roads safe.
"This is an increased time for traffic on the roadways," said Carter Johnson, public information officer for Albemarle County Police. "Lots of people are traveling during the holiday season so with the increased traffic there is an increased chance for crashes so we want to try and prevent as many as we can."
The Click It or Ticket campaign is a statewide effort with multiple agencies and is funded through grant money.
