Columbia Gas of Va. Customers' Bills to Increase

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - A rate adjustment by Columbia Gas of Virginia will increase the typical monthly customer's bill 5.5 percent.

Chester-based Columbia says in a news release that the typical monthly bill will increase in June from $39.57 to $41.76.

The rate adjustment reflects the price that Columbia pays for natural gas.

Columbia serves more than 245,000 customers in central Virginia, Northern Virginia, Hampton Roads, the Shenandoah Valley, the Lynchburg area and parts of suburban Richmond and western Virginia.
