Friends and community members in Earlysville are coming together to help a retired Albemarle County police officer. Carolyn Noteman is fighting breast cancer, and an indoor yard sale is being held for her Saturday, February 25.
"We just wanted to help her out," said event organizer Lynn Sigman. "All of her friends got together and cleaned out their attics and garages. We got some really great stuff here."
"Look around, I mean all of these people who've come out for me, and they want me to fight, and I want to fight. I don't want to give it up," said Noteman.
Many items are being sold including clothes, books, artwork, tools and appliances.
The fundraiser is being held at the Earlysville Volunteer Fire Company and runs from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.
