Cost of Presidents' Visit Expected to Take Several Days to Tally

Feb. 11, 2014

It will still take some time to find out exactly how much President Barack Obama's trip to Charlottesville yesterday will cost.

On Monday, Pres. Obama and French President Francois Hollande toured Monticello, the historic home of Thomas Jefferson.

In all, 63 sworn officers and six auxiliary police officers worked with the president’s security detail to make sure the two leaders had a safe visit to and from the Charlottesville Albemarle Airport.

A police spokeswoman says it will take at least a week for the overtime price tag to be calculated.
