Council Meeting to Discuss Plans for Belmont Bridge, City Market

The Charlottesville City Council is meeting tonight, June 16th, to discuss plans for the Belmont Bridge and City Market design.

The council will hear three alternatives to the basic bridge replacement plan for the Belmont Bridge, including an underpass instead of a bridge. Public comments will be allowed during this portion of the meeting.

The council also plans to identify a preferred concept for the Charlottesville City Market on Water Street and direct staff to begin negotiating a contract.

There will also be a report on the whale tail sculpture that is located off of Route 250.

Tonight’s meeting starts at 6 p.m.
