Preparations are underway for the construction of a major Charlottesville interchange after years of controversy and planning.
The Charlottesville Skate Park has moved from its McIntire Road location into McIntire Park in order to make way for the construction of the Route 250 Bypass interchange at McIntire Road.
Road markings and flags are in place for the construction as crews plan to begin work on the project in March.
Detours and road closures throughout the three-year construction are possible, but city staff say they won't happen in the near future.
The public will have a chance to hear about construction impacts at a meeting scheduled for March 14.
