It's become a little easier to shop in Albemarle County and along the Route 29 corridor as two retailers and anchor stores opened their doors on Sunday.
Many customers filled the lot at 29th Place in Albemarle County, the complex formerly known as Shoppers' World, for the grand opening of Home Goods.
DSW and Stein Mart both recently opened in the 29th Place shopping center. Employees say they're excited about all of the inventory, adding that seeing the customers leave with bags makes them feel more at home.
Down the road at the Shops at Stonefield, clothing shop Brooks Brothers opened its doors near the Regal Cinema.
The shopping center at Route 29 and Hydraulic Road has many storefronts with "coming soon" signs in their windows, including Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn and a gourmet burger restaurant.
Stores will continue to open throughout the summer.
