A bicyclist was hit by a car at the intersection of Fifth Street and West Main Street in Charlottesville at around 4 p.m. on Tuesday. The collision caused one lane of traffic to be shut down.
The bicyclist was taken to the hospital as a precaution. Witnesses say he was not wearing a helmet at the time. Crews on the scene said the cyclist was conscious as he was taken to the hospital.
Police say the incident is still under investigation but would not say whether any charges are coming.
