The Twin Lakes Homeowners' Association in Greene County is encouraging residents to be alert, as officials have found problems with one of the dams.
According to the HOA website, an outlet pipe on dam number two is leaking. Over the next week, Lake Shenandoah will be lowered by about 10 feet. But officials say this is just a precaution, and dam failure is not imminent. After the water level is lowered, the problem can be repaired.
The HOA says people should stay out of the lake and off the dam. They encourage any residents to notify them or Greene County Emergency Services if they notice any problems.
