One person is dead after a collision between a pick-up truck and a passenger car on Ivy Road in Albemarle County.
Police say 79-year-old Virginia Keith of Charlottesville was killed Wednesday when she attempted to cross Ivy Road but failed to yield the right of way.
The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Ivy Road and Tilman Road.
A pick-up truck traveling eastbound on Ivy Road crashed into the drivers side of Keith's car. Keith was the only person in the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pick-up truck was sent to UVa Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.
Traffic on Ivy Road was at a standstill from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. as authorities cleared the scene.
