The 65th Charlottesville Dogwood Festival gets underway this Friday, March 21, with the annual dogwood tree sale at Barracks Road Shopping Center.
The sale will begin at 7:00 a.m. and will continue through Saturday, March 22, or until all the trees are sold.
"The last three years, we have sold all of the trees on Friday," said T.D. Layman, president of the Dogwood Festival. "We are excited about the warm weather predicted for Friday and Saturday and the beginning of the 65th Dogwood Festival".
There will be three colors of dogwood trees, in three sizes, to choose from; red, white and pink. Prices range from $27 to $39 for the trees.
The next festival events will be the carnival at McIntire Park on Thursday, April 10, and the Pork BBQ and Fireworks on Friday, April 11.
