You know spring has arrived when the dogwood's go on sale in Charlottesville.
The annual tree sale benefits the 65th Dogwood Festival and it kicked off in the Barracks Road shopping center Friday morning.
This year, they had pink, red, and white dogwoods for sale. The trees ranged in price from $27-$39.
Dogwood Festival President T.D. Layman says the tree sale is one of their most popular events.
"The dogwood tree is our state flower. It's a beautiful tree. People love it and we sell them at a good price," said Layman.
He says they started the sale with 450 dogwood trees and had sold about half of their inventory in less than two hours.
