Democratic congressional candidate John Douglass is celebrating a big milestone Sunday as he marks his 500th campaign stop since starting his run for Congress.
Douglass said he feels good about where his campaign -- and Democrats in general -- are right now. He said there's a new momentum coming out of his debate last week with Republican incumbent Robert Hurt.
"Momentum for us is really building well. We see more, bigger crowds everywhere we go," Douglass said. "Sometimes when I stop to buy gas in the car, people come up to me and say, 'Hey, General, way to go, how about a sign?'"
Douglass and Hurt will face off in another debate Monday night in Warrenton.
