A tree fell on a power line in Fluvanna County, knocking out power to nearly 1,300 customers near Lake Monticello.
Greg Kelly, with Central Virginia Electrical Co-op (CVEC) tells CBS 19 that the tree fell on the line this morning and caught fire.
Power crews are trying to fix the problem, but will have to replace a power pole. That's a procedure that can take several hours.
CVEC has no official estimated time for restoration of power, but it could be until early Friday afternoon before the power is back on.
