The inaugural east coast Campout Festival at Misty Mountain Camp Resort is bringing plenty of musical talent, thousands of concert goers and an economic boost to the western Albemarle County town of Crozet.

“We have all kinds of music: Futurebirds from Athens, Georgia, Those Darlins from Tennessee, Sons of Bill from right here in Crozet,” event organizer, Velena Vego said of the festival lineup.

The two-day, weekend series (June 17-18), which will showcase the region's best music, art and food, is one of the first of its kind to make a stop in Crozet. And area music lovers are taking notice. The festival has already booked the entire campground, with some guests arriving as early as Tuesday.

“We've already sold about 700 advanced tickets and we're hoping for about 1,100 each day,” Vego said. While weekend camping passes are sold out, Saturday event tickets are still on sale for $27.

Organizers believe the venue offers the best of both worlds: beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains coupled with WiFi access and a swimming pool at Misty Mountain. Plus, some of the best food vendors in Central Virginia.

“It's the area's best food. We got Crozet Pizza, La Cocina del Sol, The Backyard and Fardowners Restaurant,” said Ian Solla-Yates.

They're just a few of the many ingredients to a highly anticipated outdoor music festival.
