Members of Charlottesville Earth Week wrapped up their Earth Day celebration with an Eco-Fair.

Fifty environmentally friendly vendors from around Central Virginia gathered at the Main Street Arena for the event, with ways to save money on your electric bill as well as a showcase of alternative fuel cars.

Republic Services, a waste services company, sponsored the day-long event.

“We've been a long standing partner with the city of Charlottesville as far as recycling efforts and waste management in general and we're just pleased to be here for our fourth or fifth year,” says Scott Rayner of the Charlottesville Hauling System.

There were also vendors supporting healthy lifestyles.

“Having the support of friends and family and your community in making a healthier choice is really powerful in having an impact on people's lives,” says Jennifer Bryerton, co-publisher of the Healthy Living Directory.

There was also an Earth Day poster contest for children and a display of artwork by students in Charlottesville.
