Nearly 4,000 people gathered in downtown Orange on Saturday for the 3rd annual Edible Food Festival.

This year's festival brought together 45 different food vendors ranging from fresh market produce to pretzel makers.

There were also 10 different chefs, from around Central Virginia, giving demonstrations on how they prepare their signature dishes.

The Orange Downtown Alliance partnered with Edible Blue Ridge Magazine to help promote healthy eating.

“Sustainable living, how to eat better, how to grow your own food,” says Jeff Curtis, executive director of the Orange Downtown Alliance. “A lot of times we don't take advantage of what's in our own backyard.”

“We take a lot of things for granted, so this was a way to highlight and sort of frame that interest and that expertise.”

They also had face painting and balloon animals for the kids along with plenty of musical guests.
