Emergency Crews Respond to Tractor Fire at CHO

June 30, 2014

Emergency crews respond to a tractor fire today at the Charlottesville Albemarle Airport (CHO).

An older tractor, built around 1986, caught fire. Fortunately it wasn't on the taxi-way or runway.

Airport officials say it’s hard to determine what caused the fire, but all signs point to an electrical wire short.

Station 9 responded and put out the fire in a short amount of time.

Everything is secure at the airport.
