A new pilot program may save homeowners money and energy.

Homeowners can now take part in an energy inspection program offered through the Local Energy Alliance Program (LEAP). The program will rate a home's energy performance on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the most energy efficient.

The program will give participating homeowners information on what types of improvements they should make, and an estimated cost to fix them.

The pilot program will run through the summer, for more information visit LEAP-VA.org.
