Betty Turner

Sept. 25, 2013

A former Culpeper County school aide has been convicted of assaulting an autistic boy.

Fifty-six-year-old Betty Turner received 180-day suspended sentence. Turner is no longer allowed to work with children under 12, and has to attend anger management classes.

Former teacher's aide, 50-year-old Linda Rastall, was facing the same charges, but was acquitted.

The women were accused of physically and verbally assaulting the boy on a school bus in an attempt to control him.

Both women resigned following the incident in February.
