Scheline Crutchfield, Board Chair of the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA, recently announced the resignation of the organization’s executive director, Susanne Kogut, effective on June 29, 2012. Ms. Kogut has directed the local non-profit group for the past 7 years and guided its professional staff and volunteers in the mission of providing exceptional animal care for the community.
Sources with the SPCA say Kogut notified the Board of Directors several months ago about her departure.
In expressing the appreciation of the board to Ms. Kogut, Ms Crutchfield said, “Susanne has made many contributions to animal welfare in our community, moving not only the SPCA but also the community into a higher level of compassionate animal care. Since adopting our “no-kill” philosophy in 2005, Susanne and the SPCA staff have never looked back and we have been no-kill for six years and counting.”
The Board of Directors has begun the executive search and interview process for a new director for the organization.
