NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - The FBI office in Norfolk is accepting applications for an eight-week program next year that gives an inside look at the agency.

The Citizens Academy will be held from April 2 to May 14, 2014. Classes will be held on Wednesday nights at the Norfolk FBI's new office.

The Norfolk's FBI special agent in charge will choose 25 people for the academy in February. Applicants will be notified of their selection status by March. Candidates must be at least 21 years old, have no prior felony convictions and pass a background check.

The FBI says the program helps foster relationships and understanding between the agency and businesses, religious, civic, and community groups.
