The family of missing Charlottesville man Dashad "Sage" Smith wants to keep the community aware of his case.
The grandmother of the transgendered 19-year-old attended the Charlottesville Pride Festival on Saturday. Smith attended the first festival last year, and his family wanted to make sure he was represented.
It's been nearly 10 months since Smith was last seen on West Main Street in Charlottesville. Police have been in touch with the family, but new information has been hard to come by.
"I just need for people to not forget that he is out there some where," Smith's grandmother, Lolita Smith, said. "I believe in my heart that he is out there and he is trying to get home."
There is a $10,000 reward for information that leads to where Smith is. The family hopes to spread flyers as far and wide as they can to try to bring Smith home.
