The family of Vince Shifflett released the following statement to CBS19:
"As Vince's family, we would like to say this tragedy was not a bar fight. He was hit from behind and that does not qualify as a fight. We are just wanting answers. The arrest does not give us comfort or relief, especially since he was released today. Nothing will bring Vince back to us and we will never get over losing him but justice needs to be served."
The man charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with Shifflett's death, Joseph Terry III, was released from jail Wednesday on his own recognizance. Shifflett's family tells CBS19 the two men did not know each other. They say they are hoping witnesses to the incident will come forward to police.
