The University of Virginia Cavaliers are at Madison Square Garden in New York City, preparing for their Sweet 16 match-up with the Michigan State Spartans.
On Thursday, fans were allowed to watch UVa. practice for the game.
"It’s an honor watching these guys because they're a team you want to cheer for and root for," says Willie Dersch, a former UVa. player. "The way they play is the way I viewed the game. It’s about team and hustle. It doesn’t matter what guy it is in the individual game it’s about winning the game and I’m proud of this team right now."
Michigan State fans say they have confidence in their team, but admit it's not going to be an easy game.
"Virginia is good, they have good defense and all," Joel Kerwin said. "At the same time, we’re a very talented team. We’ve been injured all year…It’s going to be a tough game."
"So a wahoo, like good UVa. culture, is a fish that can hold twice its weight in water. Or at least twice its weight in water." UVa. alum Stephen Nash said. "I’ll leave that up to anyone to interpret it as they may, but I feel a lot of people from UVa. take pride in the Wahoos."
Most of the UVa. fans that came to today's practice live in New York City, and many said they were excited to welcome the Cavaliers to their city.
