Virginia State Police are investigating a deadly accident on Route 33.
The wreck happened between Gordonsville and Barboursville around 10:20am Wednesday.
Police tell us a 1994 Ford van driven by 34 year old Aaron Jackson Strickland crossed the center line and hit a pickup truck head-on.
Strickland was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck was taken to Uva Medical Center. At the moment, there is no word on his condition.
Route 33 was closed for approximately 2 hours. State Police advise us that the investigation into the accident is still underway, and they are still looking into any possible contributing factors to the wreck.
