Twenty community groups came together for a second-annual Father's Day Community Celebration on Saturday.
It's all about celebrating local fathers spending time with family. A number of groups including Charlottesville Parks and Recreation, the Housing Authority and Children Youth and Family Services brought the crowds to Tonsler Park.
It was a day for community picnics, games and outreach to enjoy the weather and family.
"We really need to wrap all of these organizations around our families to make our community stronger," said Eddie Harris of Children, Youth and Family Services. "It's a great opportunity to come out here and honor fatherhood, it being father's day weekend, and I think it's great for the kids and it's great for all of us."
The event was created last year so these resources could be out in the open at the event for the families who need them.
