Final Preparations Underway at Polling Places

Central Virginia polling places made their final preparations for Election Day, swearing in poll workers on Monday.

"Everybody can expect a busy day. We're going to have a very busy day here at the office of voter's registration and election. Phones have been ringing off the hook all day," said electoral board chair, Rick Sincere.

Election officials said there will be long lines, but voters can get around them by avoiding peak hours.

"We certainly recommend that people try to avoid the rush time which will be 6 am to 8 am, lunch time, and then from 5pm to 7pm," Sincere said.

Voters should bring at least one form of identification to cast their ballots. A valid drivers license or another DMV-issued photo ID will work. Non-photo IDs that will be accepted are Virginia voter registration cards, bank statements with the voter's current name and address, birth certificates, Medicare cards, and Medicaid card or social security cards.
