A fire at the Kohl's department store in Albemarle County forced customers and employees to evacuate.

Crews responded to the scene in Hollymead around 5 p.m. Sunday.

The fire marshal is investigating, but authorities say the blaze began in the center of the store. It didn't spread much because of the sprinkler system.

There is water and smoke damage inside the store.

No employees or customers were injured.
