The Charlottesville Fire Department made a daring rescue Friday morning, from 50 feet in the air.
A construction worker was injured on top of the new chiller plant at The University of Virginia.
Fire Chief Richard Jones said their new tower equipment was key to the safe and successful rescue.
"The fire department has been training very hard on these high angle rescue situations, and with us getting Tower 10 as our newest piece of equipment, it really aided in this rescue," said Jones. "Being able to put the tower basket up, put the individual in the basket and bring him down, and be safe for all firefighters and victims."
The construction worker is reported to be in fair condition.
