A restaurant fire at the Hibachi Grill in Charlottesville is now under control.
Firefighters believe a kitchen fire started in the back of the restaurant shortly after 4 p.m. on Friday, and then spread to the roof.
Officials say sprinklers came on and held the fire in check, but there is a considerable amount of damage.
“We're going to have to make sure all that the fire material is completely outside,” says Battalion Chief Rich Jones. “The health department will be called in, and then it becomes their situation where they'll deal with the property owners to go ahead and try to get the restaurant back open. Unsure on a time table on that.”
No injuries have been reported.
