Flag Football Tournament to Benefit Special Olympics

The Region 8 Law Enforcement Torch Run will host a flag football tournament at Scott Stadium on Sunday, April 13th.

The tournament fee is $300 per team, with proceeds going to benefit the Special Olympics.

The tournament format will be seven on seven, but there is no limit on the number of players on the roster. The field of play will be sideline to sideline, with each team having four downs to score. Each half will be 20 minutes with no time-outs.

Trophies will be awarded for the first and second place teams. The winning team receive half-off next year’s tournament as the defending champions. The winning team will also select their own tournament MVP, who will receive four recreation coupons from Wintergreen Resort worth $200.

The tournament is open to the public at no cost. Parking is also free and available for teams and spectators.

There will only be 16 teams, so space is limited.
