Fluvanna County schools were closed again on Monday, due to the overnight ice storm.
This is the fifth school closing this school year for the county. If there is another snow day, students will have to start going to school on holidays, like Presidents' Day, to make up the missed days.
Tom Patrick, the director of operations for Fluvanna County schools said it was a difficult decision to cancel classes.
"Our buses would've been beginning to move at 8:15," said Patrick. "So that didn't give us enough time. We didn't know if the temperatures would rise or drop, and we wanted to make sure our staff and students stayed safe."
The Virginia Department of Transportation also contacts the school board to give updates on problematic roads in the Fluvanna County area.
