Fluvanna High School Grad Killed in Route 53 Crash

August 26, 2011

Virginia State Police are investigating a crash that claimed the life of an 18-year-old Fluvanna County High School graduate.

At approximately 10pm Thursday, troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash in Fluvanna County on Thursday in the 4800 block of Route 53 (Thomas Jefferson Parkway). A 2002 Saturn Vue was traveling west on Route 53 when the vehicle ran off the right side of the road, struck a culvert and overturned.

The driver, Allison L. Buck, of Palmyra, was partially ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt.

Buck had graduated from Fluvanna County High School in May. She was a member of the Lady Flucos soccer team and earned Second-Team All-Jefferson District honors her senior year.

Superintendent Gina Keller told CBS19 Buck was a good student and athlete, and said this was a great loss for the Fluvanna community.

There were no other passengers in the vehicle. Virginia State Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
