Former UVa. Rector: Tuition Increases Unsustainable

May 2, 2014

Former University of Virginia Rector Helen Dragas writes in a new editorial, saying the university is on a dangerous course.

Dragas says raising tuition year after year is unsustainable, and that parents and students should demand a full accounting of where the money is going.

She was one of three members of the UVa. Board of Visitors to vote against raising tuition rates by more than four percent last week.

It was nearly two years ago, Dragas led an attempt to remove Teresa Sullivan as president of UVa.
