It was a day full of fun for families and students of the Free Union Country School in Albemarle County.

They held their annual spring fair Sunday afternoon with pony rides, a fun slide, and all type of games.

There was also face painting and food available, as hundreds of people gathered to celebrate the kids at the school and to raise money for student scholarships.

“Within the school, almost 50 percent of the kids have some sort of financial assistance that they receive, so these events are really important to be able to provide a progressive education to kids who perhaps can't do it on their own,” says Matt Hodges, parent and trustee at Free Union Country School.

In previous years they raised five thousand dollars from the event to go towards scholarships.
