For Valentine's Day many flower shops were delivering flower arrangements Tuesday.

"Valentine's Day is almost like Christmas, where everybody will continue to buy their flowers no matter what, and that's great," said Brenda Toney of Don's Florist and Gift Inc.

The rise in gases prices are causing some problems for flower delivery companies. In Charlottesville, gas is averaging $3.50 a gallon.

Employees at Don's Florist and Gift, Incorporated say gas prices are a concern for them. They had to deliver more than 500 flower arrangements for Valentine's Day. Although, gas prices are effecting their business, employees say their prices for delivery will not go up.

"Gas prices effect everybody, especially a small business, especially if you are delivering any kind of product, gas plays a big factor. But, it's not fair for us to raise our prices and pass that on to the customer," said Dwayne Thacker of Don's Florist and Gift Inc.
