Employees at Boathouse Grill in Albemarle County are still looking for the snake they saw outside their restaurant. About a month ago employees saw the snake constrict an opossum. Ever since many people have been asking about the snake and have come out to search for it. Two men from Lynchburg even brought cages in hopes of catching it.
"When I got back to my home up in Northern Virginia, someone had e-mailed me about a Copperhead snake that they had found on the footpath at our local park. And I said, well I've got one better for you. We had a nine foot python behind the Boathouse Restaurant in Charlottesville," said Al Chadsey, owner of the Boathouse Grill.
Chadsey says one woman who came in for lunch brought him a poem with a verse from a spiritual snake, saying that the coming of a snake is good luck. The management company that owned a nearby pet shop had just closed, but a spokesperson says those snakes are all accounted for.
