RICHMOND, Va. — You no longer have to be a state employee to make a report on the State Fraud, Waste and Abuse Hotline.
Gov. Bob McDonnell signed an executive order Thursday opening the hotline to all Virginia citizens. He says the expansion will allow Virginians to take an active role in ensuring their investment in government services is properly managed.
Virginia has maintained a fraud and waste hotline since 1992. The numbers are 800-723-1615 within Virginia, and 800-225-3106 outside the state. Reports, which are anonymous and confidential, also can be emailed to dsia@doa.virginia.gov.
