They had some heavy equipment rolling in Greene county Friday night at the MID-Atlantic Power Festival.

This is the fifth year of Festival and fair.

"Come out here every year for the last five years and enjoy the weekend with my son," said Tony Mawyer, a Greene County resident, as he sat waiting for the pull to begin Friday evening.

"Coming out to the tractor pull is a fun family event," said John Ruhlman, as he sat with his family by the track.

"And the fair," added Barbie Ruhlman.

The event not only attracted regular attendees, it attracted first-time visitors.

"This is my first time out here looking at the tractor pull but I really like it," said Lawrence Sprock, a Ruckersville resident.

"It's a great event. It gives a lot of things for the community to do. It's the only...motorsports-focused event in the area that does a different motorsports event each night," said Jaime Morris, a longtime volunteer at the event. "There's a carnival and it's also a family-oriented, fun week of events."

The Power Festival promotes breast cancer awareness and sells T-shirts and other items the week. Proceeds from the sales benefit the Greene County Relay for Life.

"Ever since the Power Fest started this is an event that has always happened. The Power Fest has always donated the T-shirt sales to the American Cancer Society," Cynthia Shifflett, Greene-Madison Relay for Life Board Chair.

If you want to see the power festival and fair, it runs through Saturday. On Saturday, they're running the demolition derby and auto cross derby.
