Group Speaks Out Against Nelson Co. Pipeline

July 28, 2014

Community members opposed to a possible pipeline running through Nelson County again discussed the issue last night.

Dominion's proposed natural gas pipeline would run from West Virginia to North Carolina.

Members of the group Friends of Nelson said the pipeline would interfere with many farms, small businesses and threaten conservation areas.

The group says Dominion agreed to halt surveys until August 12th, when they'll present to the Nelson Co. Board of Supervisors. Additionally, the group said that some landowners in the path of the pipeline never received the required letters for Dominion to survey.
