It was move day for several families in Charlottesville. Habitat for Humanity Sunrise project opened its doors on Saturday morning.
Residents moved from their trailers into energy-efficient apartment units. Habitat had been working on the project for eight years.
"It's a new beginning for them. It's an opportunity to live in a safe, new, clean and energy-efficient homes in a neighborhood that's just getting better and better," said Habitat's Executive Director Dan Rosensweig.
Habitat expects to complete the final homes in nine months. It will complete the 66 unit mixed-income community.
