Virginia Tech will honor the life of Morgan Dana Harrington this weekend during the 2011 commencement ceremonies. The Department of Religion and Culture will award a posthumous degree on her behalf. She would have graduated this spring.
Morgan’s father will accept the diploma at the graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 14.
Morgan Harrington, 20, disappeared on October 17, 2009, after leaving a concert at John Paul Jones Arena. In January 2010, her remains were found on a farm in Albemarle County. A dedication plaque was installed in her memory last October, on Copeley Bridge, where she was reportedly last seen alive.
No arrest has been made in connection with her death.
