A local Hispanic organization is striving to help those in need by hosting a free health event.

Sin Barreras, or Without Barriers, held its annual summer help fair on Sunday at the Church of the Incarnation. The event was free and open to the public.

Many people in the Latino community made their way out to learn about different programs offered in the Charlottesville area, including health care, legal services and banking options.

"It gives the community the opportunity to come out and get services from different agencies in town that they might not have available to them through lack of insurance or just not know about," said Clay Wilcher, the founding director of Sin Barreras.

This year, the organization also offered eye exams and sports physicals for students in high school.
