Henley Holds Awards Assembly

June 12, 2014

Henley Middle School in Crozet held their Awards Assembly Thursday morning. More than 200 8th graders spent their final day, not in class, but in the school gym for a morning of speeches and awards. Every student was called and they all got a flower.

"Middle school is probably the shortest time they spend in any one school, but it’s really important to bring an end to it... let them know we are really proud of their accomplishments and that they've got a bright future ahead of them," Henley Middle School Principal Patrick McLaughlin said.

For many here, the highlight of the ceremony at Henley was a humorous performance by a science teacher of a song parody called "Better Go."

There were also graduation ceremonies today at Jack Jouett and Sutherland Middle Schools.
