The Albemarle Charlottesville Historical Society (ACHS) is honoring eight women from Virginia this summer.
The women are being honored in the society's annual Women in History program.
The women selected are from the past and present, and have played a role in impacting the history of the state or nation.
Some of the women in the exhibit include some local names.
“Debbie Ryan is featured this year,” says Caroline Ross with ACHS. “She is the former UVa. women's basketball head coach and she is also a cancer treatment applicant and that's why she is honored. So if you want to learn more about her you can come and see her. She is the first person you see right as you walk into the front door.”
The exhibit is at the ACHS Exhibit Hall, and will stay there until August 2nd.
